FOLSOM, Calif. (KCRA) —Two people were killed and two others were hurt Sunday evening in a two-vehicle crash that shut down a Folsom roadway for several hours, police said.

The crash happened about 5:10 p.m. on Folsom Lake Crossing when a vehicle traveling west crossed over into the eastbound lanes and hit another vehicle, according to Folsom police.

Two people inside the vehicle that crossed over into oncoming traffic were killed, while two people in the vehicle going east were taken to a hospital, police said. The extent of their injuries were not given.

Speed appears to be factor in the crash, investigators said.

Folsom Lake Crossing was closed in both directions but has since reopened.

No information has been released.
