a truck carrying hazardous materials crashed in Spalding County, Georgia and spilled its contents all over the road







 

GRIFFIN, GA. - Wednesday morning, a truck carrying hazardous materials crashed in Spalding County. Crews spent the whole day working to clear the highway.

According to Spalding County Fire Chief Kenny West, a tractor trailer carrying a nonflammable liquid was involved in an accident at the intersection of High Falls Road (Hwy. 16) and Tomochichi Road. It happened at 8:20 am. The truck spilled its contents all over the road after the crash.


The Spalding County Fire Department, Henry County Fire Department, Georgia State Patrol, and the local Health Department responded to the scene.

Traffic remained blocked in both directions on Highway 16. Crews hoped to have the road reopened Wednesday night.
