CHICAGO (WLS) -- Nine people were injured, including four officers, after a crash that involved multiple vehicles and a house.

The crash took place around 11 a.m. at 124th and South Union.

Of the five civilians injured, two from one car were critically injured, police said. The other three are expected to be OK.

The four officers injured were in stable condition.

First responders could be seen giving chest compressions to a victim. A man lying in the grass near the crash scene was in handcuffs.

Police say a chase started in Tinley Park after a robbery and was continued north on the Dan Ryan by Illinois State Police. Chicago police officers were trying to meet the chase when the crash occurred.

A Chicago police squad car went into a house.

The most seriously injured officer suffered a broken leg.

Police Supt Eddie Johnson was en route to Christ Hospital, where the officers were taken.
