2 people died and a third person seriously injured in a high-speed vehicle collision with a light pole in New Orleans, LA


Two killed, one injured in Lakefront crash

NEW ORLEANS, LA - - Two people have died and a third person was seriously injured in a vehicle crash near the lakefront, according to the New Orleans Police Department.

Around 2:20 a.m., police confirmed that a vehicle crashed near the intersection of Press Drive and Leon C. Simon Boulevard had claimed the lives of two people.

Police said that a white Chevrolet Impala was traveling at a high rate of speed westbound on Leon C. Simon and hit a light pole. The car burst into flames and both driver and the passenger in the front seat were killed. Bystanders were able to help the female passenger in the rear seat to escape. She was taken to the hospital and is in serious condition.
