MINNEAPOLIS - Xcel Energy crews say they are working to assess damage and restore power for about 70,000 customers without power down from about 130,000 at the height of the storm Tuesday night.

Due to the extent of the damage and a number of outages, Xcel Energy says it does not have an estimate on when power may be restored.

Early assessments show a significant number of downed trees, downed poles and power lines. Use caution when traveling in these areas and stay away from downed lines.

Customers can contact Xcel Energy at 1-800-895-1999 to report outages, downed lines or natural gas leaks. Call 911 only report an emergency.
