A serious crash shut down part of Route 55 in Franklinville, N.J. (WPVI)

FRANKLINVILLE, N.J. (WPVI) -- All lanes of Route 55 are back open after a serious crash in Gloucester County.

The crash happened at 5:15 a.m. Monday in the southbound lanes near Little Mill Road in Franklinville.

Police tell Action News a motorist lost control, hit a guard rail and was thrown from the vehicle

Video from Chopper 6 HD showed a light colored sedan with some front end damage parked in the right shoulder.

The driver was airlifted to an area hospital. There was no immediate word on that person's condition.

Route 55 South was closed between Route 553 and Little Mill Road as police investigated and crews worked to remove the vehicle from the scene.

All lanes were back open by 8 a.m.
