Driver killed in Northeast Philadelphia collision with tree

NORTHEAST PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Police say a man is dead after a crash in Northeast Philadelphia.

It happened on Old Bustleton Avenue near Gregg Street just before 2 a.m. Monday.

Police tell Action News the driver lost control, and the car slammed into a tree, landing on its side.

The driver, believed to be a man in his 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say he was not wearing a seat belt.

No other injuries were reported.

Accident investigators were working to determine what led to the crash.
