A deadly motorcycle crash closed the Blue Route (Interstate 476) in Delaware County, Pennsylvania and a car crash closed Route 55 in Gloucester County, New Jersey for a couple hours Monday morning.

A car lost control along Route 55 southbound near Exit 43 (Little Mill Road) in Elk Township around 5:30 a.m.

Crews brought in a medical helicopter to tend to a victim of the crash as traffic backed up in both directions. The southbound lanes remained closed for nearly two hours before reopening.

Earlier, a bike wrecked southbound on the Blue Route near the Baltimore Pike Interchange (Exit 3) in Nether Providence Township around 2:45 a.m.

The motorcycle operator died in the crash.

The wreck left all southbound lanes closed between exits 3 and 1 as crews investigated and cleared debris, which wound up on lanes in both directions. That debris also caused the closure of the northbound lanes at MacDade Boulevard (Exit 1).

All lanes reopened in both directions around 5:20 a.m., said NBC10 First Alert Traffic reporter Jessica Boyington.

No word yet on the cause off either wreck.
