Construction worker killed in White Marsh, MD by a falling I-beam



State investigating cause of accident on Campbell Boulevard

WHITE MARSH, Md. —A worker died Saturday after he was struck by a piece of metal at a construction site in White Marsh, Baltimore County, officials said.


The metal piece was described as an I-beam, according to Capt. Julia Dillard of the Baltimore County Fire Department.

The man was working as a welder at the site in the 5200 block of Campbell Boulevard and died at the scene. His name was not released, but he was 35-45 years old, officials said.

County police and investigators from the Maryland Occupational Safety and Health Department will determine the exact cause of death, Dillard said.
