MOSINEE, Wis. (WSAU) -- Authorities have released the name of the man who died on the job Tuesday in Mosinee. He was 51-year-old Daniel Ollhoff from the Village of Maine, near Wausau.

Mosinee Police Chief Kenneth Muelling says the incident remains under investigation by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration or OSHA.

MOSINEE, Wis. (WSAU) -- One man is dead after an accident involving a crane at Crystal Finishing Systems, Inc. in Mosinee.

Mosinee Police Chief Kenneth Muelling says a 51-year-old man was fatally injured at the plant. The man's name is being withheld until his family is notified.

Emergency crews responded to the scene at 11:40 a.m. Tuesday. Mosinee Fire Chief Doug Jennings confirmed they were called to extricate the victim from a heavy equipment incident, and that there was no fire or hazardous materials emergency.

Crystal Finishing Systems President Mark Matthiae was very emotional as he talked with WSAU. He confirmed there were no witnesses, and it would be speculation at this point to release more details. Matthiae issued a statement saying, "Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family, friends, and co-workers. We will do everything we can to support our employees, including bringing in outside resources to address any team member concerns.” Matthiae says they are working closely with investigators and with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) to fully understand the cause of the accident.

The Marathon County medical examiner was called to the scene. The investigation into the accident is continuing

MOSINEE, Wis. (AP) -- Mosinee police say a worker has died in an industrial accident involving an overhead crane.

Emergency crews were called to Crystal Finishing Systems just before noon Tuesday. Mosinee Police Chief Kenneth Muelling says the 51-year-old man died at the scene. His name was not immediately released.

Crystal Finishing was founded in 1993 and does aluminum extrusion and fabrication as well as coatings. The privately owned company has plants in Mosinee, Schofield and River Falls.

Company president Mark Matthiae did not immediately return a phone message for comment Tuesday.
