Plane Crashes Short Of The Runway In Prescott

There was a plane crash near the Prescott Airport Saturday. Officials say a single engine plane went down close to Love Field at around 8 a.m. The Beechcraft Sundowner with two people inside reportedly lost power as it went over Mingus Mountain and attempted to glide to the runway.

The plane made a successful belly landing about a half-mile from the end of the runway near the solar power plant. Two women who were in the plane were treated at the scene. The plane remained intact and didn’t start a fire near the wreck.
