LUCKY PEAK RESERVOIR, ID

 - A 19-year-old died Sunday after he was being pulled on a tube behind a boat at Lucky Peak Reservoir.

The Ada County Sheriff's Office said deputies were called just before 4:30 p.m. to investigate a report of a floating tube crash with injuries on Lucky Peak.

The sheriff's office said a man was pulling his 19-year-old son and another man on a tube behind a ski boat.

The boat approached a narrow part of the reservoir near Goose Neck Bay when the tube swung toward the rocky side of Lucky Peak.

The sheriff's office said it appears that the 19-year-old let go of the tube as it swung toward the bank and hit the rocks on the side of the reservoir.

The other man held on, the sheriff's office said, and the tube cushioned him as it hit the rocks. He wasn't injured.

The impact severely injured the teen, and the people on the boat got him and began CPR immediately.

The teen was taken to Barclay Bay, and a doctor and paramedics took over treatment.

The teen was pronounced dead a short time later at a local hospital.

The incident is under investigation. No citations had been issued as of Monday afternoon. His identity was unknown.

Alcohol use was not a factor, the sheriff's office said.
