2 PECO electrical workers sufferred burns in a substation in Center City

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Emergency officials were on the scene at 23rd and Market Street on Monday where two electrical workers were taken to the hospital following injuries that occurred during an incident at a work site.

According to PECO, a company employee and a contractor were working on electrical equipment near a substation in Center City. Officials say that both workers were injured and taken to the hospital.

They add that both workers were conscious and alert and PECO says that both had appropriate equipment on. PECO said that eight customers lost power.

A 40-year-old was taken to Presbyterian Hospital with burns to his face and hand. A 35-year-old was taken to Temple University Hospital with 2nd and 3rd degree burns to his right arm.
