Roofing worker killed in accident at DeLand car dealership



ORANGE CITY, Fla. —


A worker died in an industrial accident in Orange City early Wednesday morning, police said.

Robert Heymen, 35, died after being pinned between a lift bucket and the edge a building's roof behind DeLand Ford around 7 a.m. He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.

Police said Heymen, of Deltona, and another man were working on the gutters and roof of the building.

The second worker suffered an ankle injury when he dropped from the bucket and fell 30 feet to the ground, police said.

Police said Heymen was employed by Tecta America, a company contracted to do roofing work at the car dealership.

Orange City police are investigating the accident.
