Woman Driver of SUV Charged with Felony DUI in Fatal I-26, SC Rear-End Collision that Killed another SUV Driver

Lexington, SC (WLTX) - 


A woman has been charged with a felony in connection with Tuesday morning's fatal collision on Interstate 26 in Lexington County.

Destiny Mills, 23, is charge with felony DUI involving death.

The accident happened around 2 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of I-26 near the Airport Boulevard exit. According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, Mills' vehicle hit the back of another SUV. The SUV then ran of the right side of the road and overturned.

Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher says 21-year-old Olivia K. Johnson was thrown from the vehicle, and died from her injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.

The roadway was blocked for about five hours.
