A teenager is dead after an ATV accident in Clayton County, Iowa.

A teenager is dead after an ATV accident in Clayton County, Iowa. 

The Clayton County Sheriff’s Office says 16 year old, Kurtis Reidy, died after he was thrown from an ATV. The Sheriff’s Office said the crash happened around three Sunday morning near 25094 Great River Road. This address is a private property just about five miles north of Guttenberg.

The Sheriff’s Office says Reid and two other people were riding on the ATV when they struck and hit a fence. The crash caused all three people to be thrown off the ATV. Reidy was transported to the Guttenberg Hospital, and was later pronounced dead.

The Sheriff’s Office said 23 year old, Tyler Schladetzky, was driving the ATV. He was treated for minor injuries. The third passenger is identified as a juvenile and wasn’t injured. The Clayton County Sheriff’s office and the Iowa DNR are investigating the accident.
