Worldwide offshore rig count dips in July by 10. The total Worlwide rig counts increased by 31 compared to June 2015

The worldwide offshore rig count in July 2015 dropped to 299 active units, down by ten from 309 in June 2015, and down 96 rigs from July last year, Baker Hughes reported Friday.

According to the report, the international offshore rig count in July (excluding the U.S. and Canada) was 264, down from 277 in June 2015, and down from 336 from July 2015.

As for the U.S. and Canada, there were 31 active offshore rigs in the U.S. in July, up from 28 in June 2015, and down from 59 in July 2015.

Canadian offshore rigs remained flat with four active units last month, the same as in June, but up from two rigs in July 2014.

The worldwide rig count for July 2015, including offshore and onshore units, was 2,167, up 31 from the 2,136 counted in June 2015, and down 1,441 from the 3,608 counted in July 2014.
