REVERE, Mass. —
Lanes of Route 16 in Revere are closed after a crash brought high-tension wires down on the road, according to police.
Chelsea Fire said all eastbound traffic on Route 16 in Revere was diverted to Route 1 North.
Massachusetts State Police spokesman Dave Procopio said a truck backed into a pole near Mill Street, knocking it and the transformer over, leaving high-tension wires across the road.
By noon, a lane in each direction has been reopened. It was not clear when the road would fully reopen.
National Grid were called to the scene.
