Three people were seriously injured, two suffering burns, when an SUV sparked a fiery crash involving four other vehicles early Monday morning.

The crash occurred around 6:30 a.m. on 44th Avenue and Federal Boulevard.
Denver police tweeted that they are investigating the incident as a hit-and run and they have a suspect in custody.

A witness told the Denver Post that he saw a driver and a passenger in the Jeep engulfed in flames after the Jeep exploded.

Another witness told the newspaper that a white Dodge Durango was weaving in and out of traffic, running red lights before the wreck, and then sped off after the crash.
Traffic in the area was shut down for some time.
