A 19-year-old was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence after a crash killed three men in another vehicle and critically injured one person Sunday morning in North Hills, officials said.

Responding officials discovered two men dead on arrival when they responded to reports of a crash near Haskell Avenue and Roscoe Boulevard (map) around 2:45 a.m., investigators said.

Firefighters extricated at least one person, the Los Angeles Fire Department tweeted.

Riley John Holman, of Mission Hills, was the sole occupant of a Jeep Liberty heading eastbound on Roscoe when the SUV collided head-on with a Toyota Corolla traveling westbound, said Officer Sae Ko of the Los Angeles Police Department.

Three people were initially said to be injured, two critically, but the LAPD later confirmed a third person had died at the hospital.

The men who died were in the Toyota that was involved in the crash, according to Ko.  A fourth occupant of the vehicle, a rear passenger, was critically injured.
A Honda Accord driven by Joshua Aaron, 29, of Pacoima, was clipped by the Toyota during the crash, police said. Aaron was uninjured.

Holman was arrested for alleged vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.

On-scene officials initially said the teen had been critically injured, but officers with LAPD’s West Traffic Division later said he sustained minor injuries.

Video of the scene showed the red Toyota was badly crushed and the front-end of a blue Jeep was mangled.

Tow trucks could be seen clearing the wrecked vehicles from the area around 9:30 a.m. The roadway was expected to reopen in the coming hour.
