Roadway damaged after tractor trailer truck fire on NB Rt. 76 in Gloucester City, New Jersey


Only two lanes are getting by and officials say the road is damaged after a tractor trailer fire on the northbound lanes of Route 76 in Gloucester City.
Only two lanes are getting by and officials say the road is damaged after a tractor trailer fire on the northbound lanes of Route 76 in Gloucester City, New Jersey approaching the Walt Whitman Bridge.

Firefighters arrived around 5:00 p.m. Sunday to find heavy flames coming from the truck.

They were able to place the blaze under control, but had to wait for the diesel to be removed from the truck.

Traffic is backed up to the Atlantic City Expressway.

The left four lanes are closed and the right shoulder and right lane are open.

Officials say depending on the damage, the road may have to be repaved overnight.
