Indiana State Police responded to a crash between an East Noble School bus and a car Thursday afternoon that injured on man.

The bus driver and the eight kids who were on the bus were not injured, but other driver was sent to the hospital.

Around 3:35 p.m., Marilyn R. Miars, 59, of rural Avilla, was traveling westbound on CR 100 S at the intersection of State Road 3.

Miars then proceeded into the southbound lanes and into the path of a southbound car driven by Steven Ihrie, 57, of Fort Wayne.

Ihrie's car struck the broadside of the bus causing extensive damage to both vehicles, police said.

Ihrie was transported to the hospital with injuries to his lower legs as well as complaints of pain to his head, neck, chest and back.

Police say that he was wearing a seatbelt and say that was the reason why he was not injured even more.
