A woman died after a semi-truck rolled off the road Monday on Interstate 40.

The crash closed the eastbound lanes of the freeway for more than an hour, officials said.

The woman was partially ejected and died at the scene after the semi rolled for an unknown reason at about 11:30 a.m. Monday, said Tim Case, spokesman for the Department of Public Safety.

There were two people in a semi-truck when it crashed near milepost 179, about 18 miles west of Flagstaff. The other person, a man, was trapped in the vehicle and had to be cut out. He was transported to the hospital with serious injuries, Case said.
