MCCALLA, AL (WBRC) -

A McCalla house was destroyed for the third time following a fire early Monday morning.

The house fire began around 4:15 a.m. in the 7400 block of Morris Lane. The fire was already fully-involved when firefighters arrived on the scene and the roof had already been completely destroyed. Nine firefighters battled the blaze.

This is the third time the house has caught fire in several years, according to the McAdory Fire Department Chief Jeff Wyatt.

Wyatt said an accelerant may have been used. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

No injuries have been reported and authorities do not believe any one was present at the home when the fire started.

This story is still developing and a FOX6 reporter is currently on the scene. We will update with more information as it becomes available.
