Police pursuit ends with a train crash in Jackson County

 PAINT ROCK, Ala. (WHNT) – 

A police pursuit beginning around midnight on Saturday morning in Jackson County ends in a train crash. According to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were involved in a chase that ended at Highway 72 and AL 65 in Paint Rock.

Deputies said the person driving the vehicle lost control while speeding and got stuck on the train tracks where the oncoming train hit the vehicle.

The driver was not in the car at the time of the collision. Deputies said they found her in the woods and arrested her for public intoxication. Authorities said she could face other charges.
