Chemical spill causes evacuation of 40-50 people on Crow Reservation in Montana


A reported chemical spill on the Crow Reservation has several dozen people being told to evacuate their homes.

The chemical spill happened near Dunmore, according to the American Red Cross.

Montana Red Cross volunteers have opened a shelter for the 40-50 people who may be affected by the evacuation order.

The shelter is located at 98 Heritage Road in Crow Agency.

The Red Cross says that anyone affected is welcome at the shelter, and all services are provided at no charge.

There is no word yet on the cause of the reported chemical spill, or what chemical(s) have been spilled.
