State police say a 47-year-old Rochester woman has died after her motorcycle collided with a minivan on a central New York road.

Troopers say Bonnie Petrotta and 38-year-old Mark Northup, also of Rochester, were riding their motorcycles late Sunday morning in Jefferson County when they approached the entrance to Southwick Beach State Park in the town of Ellisburg, on Lake Ontario's eastern end 50 miles north of Syracuse.

Police say 18-year-old Christopher M. Waters of Camillus, Onondaga County, was driving the minivan and pulled into the intersection and into the path of the motorcycles. Petrotta's motorcycle hit the minivan and she was ejected from her bike. Northrup's bike glanced off the minivan.

Petrotta was taken to the hospital in nearby Watertown, where she was pronounced dead. Northrup was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The teen was charged with failure to yield the right of way.
