MOORESVILLE, Ind. -

A Mooresville teenager has died in an ATV accident Thursday evening.

Conservation officers were dispatched to Old Field Lane near SR 42 in Mooresville around 7 p.m. Thursday on the report of a crash.

Investigators say 16-year-old Dalton Stuck and his 13-year-old brother Parker Jones were riding the ATV on Old Field Lane.

For an unknown reason, Stuck lost control of the vehicle and struck the guardrail of a bridge. He was taken to St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, where he later died of severe chest trauma.

Jones was taken to Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health with a laceration on his left leg. He is listed in stable condition.

Officers say the boys weren't wearing helmets or protective equipment.
