1 injured after logging truck crash in Lancaster Co., South Carolina; fuel spill entered the river

A Friday morning crash involving a logging truck resulted in injuries and the roadway being blocked in Lancaster County.

The crash happened just after 9 a.m. on S.C. 5 near Steel Hill Road, according to the S.C. Highway Patrol. There are injuries involved and the roadway is blocked.

A logging truck and another vehicle are involved, and at least one person has been transported to a hospital, according to scanner traffic.

The gas tank on the truck ruptured and spilled into the river, creating a haz-mat situation, according to The Herald’s news partner, WSOC-TV.
