1 driver killed after collision between a water tanker and a semi-truck on I-41 in Dodge County, WI after one of the drivers attempted a U-turn on the highway

TOWN OF LOMIRA, Wis. -

One man is dead following a crash between two semis on I-41 in Dodge County that happened after one of the drivers attempted a U-turn on the highway, according to the Dodge County Sheriff’s Department.


Deputies said the incident happened just after 2 a.m. Wednesday on I-41 n

orth of Wisconsin Highway 49 in the town of Lomira, just south of Fond du Lac.

According to the sheriff’s department, a semi-tanker trailer hauling water was making a U-turn when another semi-truck collided with it. That driver died at the scene. The driver hauling water was not injured.

I-41 southbound traffic reopened about 8:30 a.m. Wednesday. Names have not been released.



The driver of the semi with tank trailer was uninjured in the crash, but the driver of the semi with box trailer was pronounced dead at the scene by the Dodge County Medical Examiner.

 


Names are being withheld pending family notification. There were no passengers in either vehicle.

I-41 southbound traffic remains closed while the crash is being investigated.

Assisting at the scene was: Fond du lac County Sheriff’s Department, Fond du lac Paramedics, Brownsville Fire Department and Dodge County Emergency Response Team.

The crash remains under investigation by the Dodge County Crash Investigation Team.
