Suicide by Train? LIRR train struck and killed 2 trespassers at Hollis station



HOLLIS, Queens — 

LIRR trains back on schedule after a Manhattan-bound LIRR train fatally struck two people in the Hollis section of Queens Thursday morning.

The incident happened shortly before 3 a.m. Thursday morning, MTA  said.

MTA said the victims were struck by a westbound 1:46 a.m. Ronkonkoma train that was due at Penn Station at 3:05 a.m. Thursday. They were struck when the train was pulling into the LIRR station in Hollis.

About 100 to 200 people were on the train when the victims were struck. The victims were trespassing on the tracks, an LIRR spokesman to PIX11 News.
