VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) —

Fire sparked inside a warehouse in Virginia Beach Thursday afternoon.

Fire crews were dispatched to the 2700 block of Sonic Drive around 2 p.m. for a report of a commercial fire, according to District Chief Michael Barakey, with the Virginia Beach Fire Department.

The first crews at the scene found smoke showing from a warehouse that contained cleaning chemicals. Karakey said the fire extended from inside the building to the ceiling, but sprinkler heads inside helped contain the flames.

Crews were clearing the scene around 5 p.m. No one was injured. The fire was ruled accidental.

VBFD HazMat crews were called out and made sure the water run-off and atmosphere were not hazardous.
