LAKE COUNTY, Fla. —

Florida's Turnpike was shut down Tuesday morning after a dump truck crashed into a guardrail in Lake County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers said the driver lost control in the northbound lanes, crashed through the center guardrail and overturned in the southbound lanes shortly before 8 a.m. at U.S. Highway 27.

Emergency crews shut down all southbound lanes while they worked to clear a fuel spill.

The driver suffered minor injuries, troopers said.

He was ticketed for careless driving.

The road was reopened shortly after 10 a.m.
