GALVESTON, TEXAS -

A crane unloading a 60-ton section of wind tower broke Wednesday at the Port of Galveston, injuring four dock workers, officials said.

The injuries weren’t life-threatening, but one was being treated at John Sealy Hospital following the incident around 9:15 a.m., Coast Guard officials said.

Dock Worker Injuries

Dock workers often have very dangerous jobs. Forced to contend with cranes that lift metal shipping containers the size of railroad cars, they can experience serious personal injury and wrongful death in tragic workplace accidents.

Thankfully, the law provides compensation for dock workers and other maritime workers who are injured during the course of employment.
