100-gallons of fuel oil spilled on I-85 in Rowan Co., North Carolina after fuel tank ruptured from road debris.

ROWAN COUNTY, NC (WBTV) - 

About 100 gallons of fuel spilled onto I-85 in Rowan County Thursday morning, according to officials.

The tractor trailer spilled the fuel on northbound lanes near mile marker 72.
Hazmat crews were on scene to assist with clean up.

Officials have not said how this incident happened.  It is suspected that one of the two fuel tanks ruptured from road debris.
