JONESBORO, AR (KAIT)

Investigators will look into the cause of a small plane crash in a business parking lot in Jonesboro.

A small-engine plane crashed in the Fuji Japanese Steak House parking lot early Wednesday morning, according to Jonesboro E911 Dispatch.

There was a small fire with the crash but it was put out.

Two people managed to get out of the aircraft and were not injured, according to Jonesboro E911 Director Jeff Presley.  Considering that the plane ended up upside down, these two must be either very lucky or are still in denial of their injuries due to shock.

The Jonesboro Fire Department is monitoring the scene due to fuel leaking from the aircraft, according to Jonesboro police.

Police also say businesses in the shopping center near the crash site will be open.

According to online records, the plane is a Piper PA-28R-200 and owned by C & S Aviation LLC. of Jonesboro.

An investigator is en route to Jonesboro from Little Rock to inspect the scene.
