 4-year-old child is in stable condition after being accidentally shot 
by a Columbus Police officer, according to CBS affiliate WBNS in 
Columbus.
The shooting occurred Friday afternoon on Chandler Drive in Whitehall.
According to WBNS reports, the officer heard a family screaming about a medical emergency.
The officer approached and a dog came at him. Investigators told WBNS the officer shot the dog and a stray bullet hit the child.
The 4-year-old girl in being treated at Nationwide Children’s Hospital.
