3 INJURED AFTER AN SUV WENT OFF U.S. 127 AND WAS HIT BY A TRAIN IN PREBLE COUNTY, OHIO

UPDATE @ 6:15 a.m.:

Three people were injured after an SUV went off U.S. 127 and was hit by a train in Preble County.

Deputies and medics were dispatched near the intersection of U.S. 127 and Brower Road in Gasper Township around 5 a.m. on a reported crash involving a train and SUV.

Firefighters say the SUV was traveling south on U.S. 127 when the vehicle went off the roadway and directly onto the train tracks.

Three people were injured when a train traveling north collided with the SUV.
CareFlight was put on standby, but did not respond to the scene.

All injuries are believed to be non-life threatening, and the victims have been taken to area hospitals for treatment.

Deputies have shut down U.S. 127 in both directions to remove the SUV from the tracks, but an estimated time for reopening is unknown.

FIRST REPORT:

CareFlight has been put on standby for a reported crash involving an SUV and a train on U.S. 127 and Brower Road in Preble County.

The Preble County Sheriff’s Office says injuries were sustained in the crash, and two medic units have been dispatched to the scene.
