1 INJURED WHEN A SINGLE ENGINE EXPERIMENTAL AIRPLANE NOSEDIVED INTO A CARPORT ATTACHED TO A RESIDENCE IN ALPINE, TEXAS

ALPINE, TEXAS

Alpine emergency crews responded to a plane crash around 8:30 a.m. on Saturday. 

According to the Alpine Fire Department, the single engine experimental airplane nosedived into a carport attached to a residence. The home was not damaged in the crash. 

The pilot of the plane, Jim Bob Belcher of Alpine, suffered non-life threatening injuries and was treated at the scene. 


Belcher stated that the plane engine lost power on its way back to the Alpine Casparis Municipal Airport. 


Alpine Police and the FAA are investigating.
