1 DEAD AFTER EXPLOSION AND FIERY CRASH IN INGLEWOOD, CALIFORNIA

INGLEWOOD, CALIFORNIA



A SigAlert was issued on the 405 Freeway in Inglewood after a fiery crash left one person dead Friday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The two-vehicle crash occurred around 7:45 a.m. on the southbound 405 near Florence Avenue, CHP Officer Alex Rubio said.
Details of the actual crash were not immediately available, but according to Rubio, the vehicle erupted in flames following the collision. The CHP’s incident log indicated the vehicle had exploded prior to catching fire.
One person was pronounced dead. It was unclear whether anyone else was injured.
The Nos. 2, 3 and 4 lanes would be closed until further notice while CHP investigated the crash. The closure was estimated to last for about an hour.
Traffic was jammed in the immediate area, aerial video over the freeway showed.
