School bus driver killed when he was involved in a crash with a 2007 International Harvester Truck in Walkill, New York

NEW YORK (MYFOXNY)

 A mini-school bus driver was killed when he was involved in a crash with a truck in Walkill, New York just after 8 a.m. on  Friday.

A First Student School Bus was travelling eastbound on State Route 211 when a 2007 International Harvester, owned by Donato Marangi Inc, drifted into the eastbound lane causing the head-on crash.

The driver of the school bus, Raymond P. Lucca Sr., 69, of Walden, died at scene. There were no students on the bus at the time of the collision.

The state police identified the truck driver as Cesar J. Leon-Sanchez, 21, of Goshen.  He was airlifted to the Westchester Medical Center with serious injuries.  He is expected to face charges.

The road remained closed for hours as police continued their investigation.

Walkill is located in Orange County and is about 75 miles from New York City.
