Let the Memorial Holiday Carnage Begin: 3 dead, 1 injured in overnight Red Oak crash in Texas

ELLIS COUNTY, TEXAS

Three people were dead at the scene of a crash in far east Red Oak overnight. One person was hospitalized.

An SUV and a pickup collided at the corner of FM 644 and Batchler Road just after 1 a.m. Saturday. Two brothers in the SUV and the driver of the pickup all died, according to Department of Public Safety trooper James Colunga.

James Mancilla, 19, was driving eastbound in a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee with his brother, 21-year-old Jose Mancilla, in the passenger seat. They collided with a northbound 1999 Ford F-250 driven by 19-year-old Ethan Woods.

One person was ejected from a vehicle and found dead in a nearby field. It was unclear from which vehicle he was thrown.

Hunter Manley, 19, was the passenger in the pickup and was the only survivor. He was flown to a Dallas hospital in an unknown condition, Colunga said.
The DPS was investigating the case.
