NTSB OPENS DOCKET ON NOV. 29, 1013 DEADLY COMMUTER FLIGHT CRASH NEAR ST. MARY’S AIRPORT IN ALASKA THAT KILLED 4 AND INJURED 6

The National Transportation Safety Board tomorrow will open the accident docket as part of the ongoing investigation into the November 29, 2013 crash of a Hageland Aviation Services, Inc., dba ERA Alaska (now Ravn Connect) Cessna 208B near St. Mary’s, Alaska. 

The scheduled commuter flight crashed about one mile southeast of the St. Mary’s Airport.  Of the 10 people on board, the pilot and three passengers were killed, and six passengers sustained serious injuries.

In May 2014, the NTSB issued an urgent safety recommendation to the FAA regarding the oversight of this carrier. http://www.ntsb.gov/safety/safety-recs/RecLetters/A-14-022-023.pdf


The docket will not contain analysis, only facts, including the operational factors group chairman’s factual report, documents, photographs, and interview summaries. Additional information will continue to be added to the docket and released as it becomes available. 

The factual report, analysis, conclusions, and probable cause statement will be issued at a later date.
