The coroner has identified the person killed in a four-vehicle crash along Tates Creek Road in Lexington Tuesday morning.

The coroner reports that 18-year-old Daniel Ethan Stamper died as a result of multiple blunt force injuries he sustained in the crashed.

The accident happened at around 6:45 a.m. near the intersection of Parliament Way. Stamper was pronounced dead at 7:00 a.m.

Officials say a Mitsubishi traveling at a high rate of speed clipped a truck in front of it, spun, and was then T-boned by another car. A fourth vehicle was caught up in the crash. The coroner says a passenger in the Mitsubishi died at the scene.

EMS transported at least two other drivers to the hospital. Officials did not release any information about their conditions nor did they say which car Stamper was driving.

Police have shut down inbound lanes between Laredo Drive and Redding Road. Officials say they will remain closed for an undetermined amount of time until the police crash reconstruction unit completes its investigation.
