HILLSBORO, N.D. (KFGO-AM)

The driver of a car hit by a train in Traill County was arrested at the scene.
The collision happened at an abandoned railroad crossing at the end of a dead end township road about 11:30 p.m. Sunday when the car became stuck on the tracks of the dismantled crossing.

Sheriff's Captain Tony Ernst says two people in the car were able to escape before it was hit by a northbound BNSF train. The train pushed the car several hundred feet.

Michael Cox, 26, of Fargo, is charged with DUI, driving with a revoked license and refusal of a chemical test.  A 27 year old woman passenger was taken to Altru Hospital in Grand Forks with non-life threatening injuries.
