COAST GUARD CREWS ESCORT VESSEL BLUE MARLIN THAT CARRIES THE POLAR PIONEER RIG TO PORT ANGELES, WASHINGTON




APRIL 17, 2015

Coast Guard crews escort the 674-foot Curacao-flagged semi-submersible heavy lift ship Blue Marlin to its anchorage location in Port Angeles Bay, Wash., April 17, 2015. 

The ship carries the controversial Polar Pioneer rig of Shell that is destined to destroy the arctic waters for the sake of oil and gas.

Coast Guard, Customs and Border Protection, Clallam County and City of Port Angeles boatcrews assisted in escorting the vessel.
