PORTLAND, MAINE (NEWS CENTER)

An Amtrak train derailed about one mile south of the Portland station Tuesday afternoon.

There were no injuries and it was not a serious derailment, said Patricia Quinn with the Northern New England Passenger Rail Authority.

Crews worked to get the 41 people on the train back to the Portland station, which they did before 6 p.m.

Because of the derailment, Trains 686 and 687 are canceled and Train 685 will be delayed from leaving Boston.
