BOISE, IDAHO

The Ada County Coroner's Office has released the identity of a young boy who fell in an irrigation canal Monday and died.

Coroner Dotti Owens says 19-month-old Bayler Robins drowned. Bayler was unresponsive when he was pulled from the water Monday afternoon. The boy was transported to St. Luke's Meridian where he was pronounced dead.

The canal where Bayler fell in is located in 7500 block of South Ten Mile Road - just north of the West Columbia Road intersection.

Ada County sheriff's deputies were called to the scene at 1:17 p.m.

A group of children were playing behind a house where the boy went missing. A family member found the boy in the water more than 60 feet away from where he likely fell in and began administering CPR while another person called 911.

The case is still under investigation.
