1 DEAD AFTER FIERY HEAD-ON CRASH OF A CAR WITH MILK TRUCK IN WISCONSIN

BARRON COUNTY, WIS.

One person is dead after a vehicle crashed head-on into a milk truck in Wisconsin.

Authorities say the accident happened around 6:24 a.m. on Tuesday near Cumberland.

Investigators say a vehicle driving west on Highway 48 crossed the centerline into the path of the milk truck that was heading east.

When authorities arrived on scene, both vehicles were engulfed in flames.

The driver of the vehicle was killed in the crash. The driver of the milk truck did not report any injuries.

Neither vehicle had occupants.

Highway 48, near 3rd Street, was closed for about three hours while Wisconsin State Patrol officers investigated the crash.

The name of the driver killed is being withheld pending family notification.

The crash remains under investigation.
