BARN DESTROYED, NEARLY ALL FARM ANIMALS INSIDE KILLED IN BOONE COUNTY FIRE IN INDIANA

BOONE COUNTY, INDIANA

Over a dozen animals were killed in a Boone County barn fire Friday morning.

The Sugar Creek Fire Department responded to the fire near US 52 and N 675 W in Thorntown just before 2 a.m. The barn was fully engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived, and Perry Township assisted crews by helping to haul in water. The barn is completely destroyed.

The fire killed nearly all of the animals inside the barn including seven horses, a few dogs and chickens, a goat, and a pig. One horse survived the fire and was transported to Purdue for treatment.
